Amongst its numerous advantages, is training the child’s brain on movement accuracy and decision-making, which is required in the game. She mentioned in the “the impact of video games” lecture, which Asharqia Chamber has organized recently that among the advantages are that some games require physical activity and help develop the reading, math, and calculating skills. It also encourages kids to retrain to perfect those required skills to advance in the game.  Samirah AlSoaigh and Manahel AlHamdan, board members, had attended the lecture, and some interested attendants. AlSoaigh mentioned during the lecture that video games enhance children’s abilities in dealing with technology, as well as their instruction following, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, along with training the eye to enhance its abilities to focus.
AlSoaigh said on the issues of overusing video games that it is better to delay the age of playing video games for five years or above, inspecting the content of these video games, and designating the playing time, for instance using electronic should not exceed 2 hours a day, which is approximately 7-14 hours weekly.  A good communication between the parents and kids is required.

As for the video games addiction symptoms, the speaking said that if the child is consumed with these video games he might have withdrawal symptoms if they were taken away from him. Also, he will lose any self-control and any interest in other activities. That is added to the advantages of video games, along with the violence that many video games include which makes the child violent and lowers his or her social skills. She mentioned that the interactive nature of these games has more of a negative impact because they reward the children on violent behavior. Thus, the kid will be encouraged to be more violent in the real life.  It also raise the level of stress and lower the time the kid spends with the family. Also, might have a negative influence overall on the school performance, and teaching bad values like violence and revenge as oppose to good values like honesty and negotiation amongst other things.
